KUALA LUMPUR - The All-Party Parliamentary Group Malaysia (APPGM) on Refugee Policy today called for an immediate ceasefire and the urgent protection of civilians in Gaza, Palestine.

Its chairman Syerleena Abdul Rashid, who is also the Bukit Bendera MP, said that war has no winners and the biggest victims were always the innocent civilians.

"Our core values as Malaysians - solidarity, compassion and humanity - compel us to stand now with the people of Gaza,” she told a press conference at the Media Centre in Parliament today.

Also present were Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari (PH-Sungai Petani) and Muhammad Fawwaz Mohamad Jan (PN-Permatang Pauh).

Therefore, Syerleena said the international community must actively intervene to prevent the exacerbation of aggression and crimes against humanity.

She said the APPGM on Refugee Policy also urged the international community, including Malaysia, to rally together and ensure emergency aid reaches those in need. - BERNAMA
