UPSI undergraduate found drowned in Sungai Perak

IPOH - A Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) undergraduate who went missing yesterday was found drowned in Sungai Perak near Kampung Bukit Sapi, Lenggong today.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department operations division assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said a team of firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving a call at 8.35am today.

He said the body of Saiful Azhar Mohd Azhari, 27, was discovered by members of the public who were conducting a search operation.

"The victim was fully clothed and found stuck among tree branches,” he said in a statement today.

Saiful Azhar, the eldest of three siblings and unmarried, was due to receive his degree at the university's convocation next month.

His motorcycle was found near the Kampung Sapi Bridge. - BERNAMA
