SHAH ALAM – Footages of Israeli soldiers hiding under their beds and desks to avoid direct confrontation with Hamas fighters during operations on Oct 7 surfaces on social media, making one wonder if the soldiers will conduct ground operation in the Gaza soil.

Asia Middle East Centre for Research and Dialogue (AMEC) director Dr Muslim Imran said that whether a ground operation from the Israeli side would take place remained unclear as the youths who made up the armed forces seemed to avoid direct confrontation.

“Their (Israel Defence Force) experience inside Israeli military camps was very bitter and there is now a substantial amount of video evidence (emerge).

“In one of these videos just released, it shows how the Palestinian young fighters, aged 20, 21, and 22, stormed into Israeli military camps.

“In some occasions, the Israeli soldiers were hiding under the bed or under the desk in order not to face the Palestinian fighters.

“How exactly are these Israeli soldiers going to occupy Gaza or reoccupy Gaza again,” he said in Sinar Daily’s "The Palestinian Diaries" podcast.

Muslim added with tens of thousands of Palestinian resistance Fighters, Israel would not be able to reoccupy Gaza.

“The answer is that they can't. This is why there are reports of civilian casualties and the use of white phosphorus, which constitutes another war crime,” Muslim added.
