SHAH ALAM - In an eye-opening chat at Karangkraf Complex, Asia Pacific Sports International (APSI) CEO KPD Andre shared fresh insights into their recent partnership with Rasuah Busters.

The venture goes beyond mere finger-pointing and aims to tackle corruption in the sports sector through educational programme that start with the youth.

"With Rasuah Busters on our side, we're taking an educational approach that goes straight to the grassroots level.

Our ambition is to nip corruption in the bud by arming the next generation with ethical values and a strong sense of integrity," Andre said.

Aiming to raise national consciousness, Andre said that Rasuah Busters is the ideal platform to spearhead a slew of educational events.

The primary focus will be on instilling principles that keep the sports world clean and honorable.

When questioned about prevalent corruption issues in the sports industry, Andre shifted the conversation towards a broader perspective.

"While corruption is a glaring issue, our ultimate goal is to monitor and implement initiatives that ensure the industry's long-term cleanliness," he stressed.

Andre also highlighted the role of government and media in this collective endeavor.

"The government has a key part to play in enforcing and embodying these laws, starting with our kids.

"The media, too, can be a powerful ally in educating the public and spotlighting our anti-corruption events," he said.

As part of the educational initiative, the partnership will roll out interactive booths at events and carnivals.

"We'll engage with parents and students directly, offering succinct yet impactful lessons on combating corruption and fostering a culture of integrity among the youth," Andre added.

Looking ahead, APSI and Rasuah Busters are developing a robust educational module focused on enhancing morals, values, and civic duties.

"This is how we intend to raise a generation that will be the change we need in the sports industry," he said.

Meanwhile, Andre also noted that APSI has a history of working with educational institutions like the University of Malaya (Umapsi) on related issues, such as sports morality and governance.
