PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to announce a Cabinet reshuffle today, with an oath-taking ceremony expected to be held in the afternoon.

The oath-taking ceremony for the ministers involved will take place in front of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

Although Cabinet reshuffling is not a new thing in the history of governance for Malaysia, it demonstrates the Madani government's will to ensure that every individual elected by the people is able to carry out their duties well.

Among the ministries expected to be involved in the reshuffle are the Finance Ministry, Communications and Digital Ministry, Health Ministry, Federal Territories Ministry, Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Ministry.

A few months ago, rumours of a cabinet reshuffle started circulating after Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister position became vacant following the death of Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub on 23 July.

The question later arose of who will be deserving enough to replace him?

The formation of the Cabinet is an important reflection of identity for the Prime Minister as the political scenario in Malaysia today becomes increasingly dynamic.

The Prime Minister has to play an important role in determining the criteria, and also in evaluating each person selected for these important roles to ensure that the direction of the country is on the right track.
