SHAH ALAM – December had always been filled with unexpecting cases, usually floods due to the monsoon season but this year had been filled with gruesome cases.

One of them was the case of a woman whose body was found encased in a cemented tub in a rental house’s bathroom in Kampung Pendamar, Pandamaran.

The body was discovered at 10.58pm on Dec 3 by a foreign man who was assigned to conduct repairs on the home.

Before renting it to other tenants, the house owner had inspected the toilet and discovered the water tub covered with cement but the previous tenant claimed that liquid from a rat carcass was flowing into the tub.

The house owner later hired foreign workers to fix the roof in November and the worker told the owner that there was a body in the water tub encased in cement.

The owner then alerted the police and the Fire and Rescue Department was roped in to break the cement and retrieve the victim's body.

The victim's body was discovered after efforts to break the cement in the water tank.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed the incident, stating investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code were ongoing.

The victim, who was later identified as an Indian national, could have been murdered over a year ago.

As the investigation progressed, police sought two suspects identified as Ranjit Singh and Manjeet Singh.

They had also arrested a 53-year-old foreign male who was remanded for seven days to aid in unravelling the circumstances surrounding this grim incident.

The police are actively pursuing Ranjit and Manjeet, who were believed to have rented the house from 2019 to 2021.

Post-mortem conducted at Shah Alam Hospital revealed that the victim aged between 20 and 30 might have died due to pressure on the neck.

With one suspect already in custody, the authorities were still in the midst of tracing the whereabouts of the second suspect, emphasising the urgency of the ongoing investigation.
