SHAH ALAM - During a family vacation, a 32-year-old woman really unintentionally leave her daughter alone in a villa when they checked out.

To express her regret and ask for pardon for her oversight concerning her three-year-old daughter, Khayra Afeeya Mohd Raziki, Nurul Fazliana Saffian turned to TikTok to upload a video.

"Forgive us, it was unintentional,” she said in the video, which had since garnered over 5.2 million views.

Fazliana's nervous voice in the video captures her realisation that her daughter was not with them.

The Bukit Tunggal resident recalled the event and said it happened last Sunday during their three-day, two-night stay at the homestay.

“It started when my family and I flew to Kelantan so that my father could receive medical attention for his red wind condition.

"To cut a long story short, Khayra, the youngest child, was distraught before we checked out of the small inn where we were staying.

"I saw Khayra hiding behind the curtain and asked my husband to calm her down, but perhaps he didn't notice until we all started to leave," she told a local daily.

When they were back in the car, Fazliana recounted that neither she nor her husband, 37-year-old Mohd Raziki Nordin, realised Khayra was missing until 30 minutes later.

"During the trip, I saw a horse by the side of the road; perhaps this was Allah's way of reaching out to touch my heart.

"I shouted Khayra’s name to come see the horse, but she didn't answer.

"It wasn't until I turned around that I realised she wasn't in her chair.

"Being quite concerned, I called my sister, who was following us, believing Khayra was with her but she wasn't.

"My husband immediately made a quick U-turn, driving back urgently to the homestay to retrieve Khayra, fearing she might be distressed alone," she said.

When Fazliana arrived at the local inn, she quickly took the key out of the mailbox and unlocked the door.

"Khayra was standing there, maybe waiting for us, as soon as the door opened.

"Khayra didn't cry when I gave her a quick hug, but her clothing was filthy with puke.

"Maybe she had just cried until she felt like throwing up, but the relief that she was well was overshadowed with guilt.

"To be honest, looking at Khayra's face, I felt incredibly guilty, leading me to repeatedly apologise for the unintended oversight," she said.

When Fazliana posted about the incident on TikTok, she received various reactions.

While many gave supportive remarks, others criticised her.

“I admit that I was negligent. The main reason I'm posting the video is to remind other parents and encourage them to learn from our experience,” she said.
