PUTRAJAYA - Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has confirmed the existence of the "Dubai Move" plot, claiming it involves not only Perikatan Nasional leaders but also individuals within the ruling government coalition.

Zahid, who is also Umno President, said that intelligence reports tracked the alleged plotters from their flight to Dubai and back, providing evidence of their meeting.

“If anyone wants to topple the government, they can just wait until the 16th general election,” the Barisan Nasional chairman reportedly told a press conference after attending a briefing session on disaster management in here today.

The Bagan Datuk MP said such backdoor manoeuvres to overthrow the government can no longer be effective, thanks to the gazetted anti-party hopping law.

“I don't think the move they made is a good move,” he said.

Speculation over the “Dubai Move” arose last week following alleged discussions between Opposition leaders and "some" government representatives during their recent visit to the UAE.
