Baby dumping cases: Whose fault is it?

The crime of baby dumping continues even though strict laws are imposed on offenders when the case is investigated as murder or attempted murder.

Based on the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) statistics, a total of 256 cases of baby dumping were recorded from 2020 to 2022.

In the latest case, a group of tahfiz students found a newborn baby girl in a box at an Islamic education centre in Rantau Panjang, Selama, Perak last Saturday.

Following that, two high school students were arrested to assist in the investigation into the case on Sunday.

Do these actions need to be normalised by the local people? Who is guilty in the case of baby dumping in the country involving teenagers or minors?

So, parents needed to monitor their children's movement and who they were with more often, especially if they send the children to a boarding school far from the family.

Although it may seem like a joke, it was better than seeing children being involved in crime.

In addition, teachers also needed to play an important role in educating and advising students not to fall into adultery.
