Selena Gomez shuts down rumours of gossiping about Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet

WHILE the spotlight shone on the deserving winners of the 81st Golden Globe Awards, the glittering night was not without its fair share of juicy drama off screen, particularly one that involved some very famous popstars.

When Selena Gomez was spotted sharing what looked like “piping-hot tea" with good friend Taylor Swift and Keleigh Teller wife of actor Miles Teller, fans immediately turned into lip reading experts, and speculated that she was gossiping about Kylie Jenner denying her request to take a photo with Timothée Chalamet, who Jenner is currently dating.

But Gomez, who was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy for her role in 'Only Murders in the Building', shut down the rumours after responding to a post by ENews and wrote: “Nooo I told Taylor about two of my friends who hooked up. Not that that’s anyone’s business.”

According to People, a source claimed that Gomez never even saw or spoke to them.

Chalamet whose friendship with Gomez goes way back to when they starred in the Woody Allen-directed rom-com ‘A Rainy Day In New York’, also dismissed the rumours, claiming that he and Gomez are on good terms.

After being pressed about Gomez and Jenner feuding by a TMZ reporter, the Wonka actor said: “No... They’re good.”

Following the drama, Gomez has once again announced that she is taking some time off from social media. "I'm off social media for a while, I'm focusing on what really matters."

She previously announced her plans to get off from the photo-sharing app after being blasted for showing support towards Palestine amid the ongoing genocide by Israel.

Prior to that, she took a break after fans had alleged she was feuding with Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner over “laminated eye brows”. This was what initially triggered the Gomez-Jenner saga.
