SHAH ALAM - The youth in our country may face significant challenges in securing future employment if they do not acquire proficiency in artificial intelligence (AI).

Malaysian Youth Organisation Gema (Gema) president Mohammad Amar Masuri said AI will be a crucial foundation for future job sectors.

"I advise the youth, including students, to be prepared and engage with AI technology.

"Failing to master it will result in falling far behind.

"Through AI mastery, we can create job opportunities independently, reducing reliance on diminishing job offers in industries transitioning away from human labor," he told Sinar when contacted.

Responding to the impact of the AI technology boom on the country, Amar highlighted the noticeable decline in job opportunities.

He noted that this trend is global, with major companies worldwide laying off employees in favor of AI technology.

"We cannot resist or compete with AI, but the optimal approach is to learn and delve into this technology, enabling us to generate job opportunities," he added.
