Halt live Parliament session broadcast temporarily – Puad
"There is no benefit if the people are only served with the uncivilised behaviour of some Members of Parliament."
KUALA LUMPUR - The live broadcast of the Parliament session needs to be temporarily suspended so that people are not served with the uncivilised attitude of some Members of Parliament.
Umno Supreme Council Member Datuk Mohd Puad Zarkashi suggested the government to review the live broadcast of Parliament session at RTM.
"There is no benefit if the people are only served with the uncivilised behaviour of some Members of Parliament. Wasting taxpayers' money.
"If you see MP's behaviour like that from Pendang, it's a waste of time. Disgusting and useless," he said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
He said the live broadcast of the Parliament session could be replaced by a special session with members of Parliament by inviting those who have good manners and morals when speaking.
Yesterday the Parliament session turned chaotic when Datuk Awang Hashim (PN-Pendang) refused to withdraw his statement in the Dewan Rakyat leading to the suspension of attendance for four days.
However, the Dewan Rakyat speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul withdrew the decision after Awang retracted his statement on the advice of Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin.
The Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday was once again in an uproar when Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan (PN-Tasek Gelugor) accused Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim of being corrupt.
Commenting further, Puad also requested that Members of Parliament be blocked from doing 'live TV' in Parliament to seek cheap publicity.
"Don't allow members of Parliament to use Live TV to 'show off', look for cheap publicity, lie and reveal hearsay stories like Tasek Gelugor," he said.
