Father pleads guilty to raping, molesting daughter
IPOH - A man pleaded guilty at the Sessions Court, here, today to two counts of raping and molesting his 19-year-old daughter.
The 38-year-old unemployed accused entered the plea after the charges were read to him before judge Norita Mohd Ardani.
According to the first charge, the father of six was accused of raping his daughter whose relationship to him is not permitted under the law, religion, custom or usage, to marry her.
The offence was committed at a house in Kampung Seri Rahmat, Batu Gajah, from about 10pm to midnight, last month.
The charge which was framed under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code provides for up to 30 years in jail and at least 10 strokes of the cane, upon conviction.
On the second count, the man was accused of using criminal violence on the victim with the purpose of outraging her modesty at the same place at about 8.30am on March 20.
The charge under Section 354 of the Penal Code carries a maximum 10 years jail or fine or whipping, upon conviction.
The prosecution was handled by deputy public prosecutor Qurratu'aini Khalifah while the accused was unrepresented.
The court set April 17 for case management and sentencing.
