SHAH ALAM - Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation (WUIF) invites the public to join the Wellness #QuranHour programme themed ‘Sunnah Practices: Preventing Chronic Diseases’ at Masjid Darul Ehsan, SS 15, Subang Jaya on Sept 21.
WUIF chief executive officer Marhaini Yusoff said the programme focuses on health and wellness by practicing the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
She added that it also aimed to encourage participants to reorganise their mindset and lifestyle in order to restore overall health and well-being, covering physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects based on the Quran and Sunnah.
"This time, the focus is on holistic health and the prevention of chronic diseases through Sunnah practices, where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) introduced treatment methods and a lifestyle in line with Islamic teachings," she said.
The programme, which will run from 9.30am to 11am, will include Quranic recitations and selected surahs led by My #QuranTime Qari, Ustaz Ahmad Tirmizi Ali.
The event would also feature a tadabbur session delivered by WUIF research and development unit head Ustaz Safri Muhammad Zein, while WUIF chief research officer and My #QuranTime Tadabbur expert Fazrul Ismail would act as the moderator.
There would also be a sharing session by the Neo Medicare founder and medical director Professor Ab Aziz Al-Safi Ismail who had extensive experience in the health field.
Marhaini also said that studies on Quranic verses related to health covered not only spiritual aspects but also healthy eating as recommended in the Quran.
"There are many Quranic verses that provide solutions to health issues and there is great potential in integrating modern medical knowledge with the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah," she said.
Marhaini added that her personal experiences meeting patients who had lost hope inspired her to spread the message of physical health awareness and introduce the concept of halalan tayyiban (lawful and wholesome) and a Sunnah-based lifestyle to the community.
"Suffering and challenges can strengthen our faith in Allah and teach us the importance of patience and reliance on Him.
"The movement to promote a healthy lifestyle begins from the mosque, serving as a hub to initiate this change," she added.
Furthermore, Marhaini said that the programme would serve as a platform to encourage holistic well-being by bringing together professionals who are experts in their respective fields.
"WUIF hopes to collaborate with more health and medical specialists to make this effort successful.
"Participation from various sectors to support this wellness movement is not only aimed at mosque congregants but also the broader community," she said.
