SEGAMAT - Three men found themselves stranded and had to wade through floodwaters in Kampung Pogoh Tengah on Wednesday afternoon after relying on a navigation application.

Segamat District Civil Defence Officer Nor Hisyam Abdullah said they were informed about the incident at 3.40pm.

He described that six personnel, along with a truck and a four-wheel-drive vehicle were dispatched to the scene to assist the victims.

“All three victims were travelling from Bekok and heading toward Kuala Pilah.

"They had used a navigation app to find a route to Kuala Pilah.

“Upon reaching the location, the three men, aged in their 40s, began wading through the floodwaters and stranded, prompting them to contact the Civil Defence Force for help.

“All the victims were successfully rescued using a truck and taken to a safe location before being picked up by their friends and transported to Johor Bahru,” he said in a statement yesterday.

He added that the water level at the affected route had reached a depth of 0.2 metres, and the road had since been closed by the Public Works Department (JKR) to all light vehicles.
