Family values, religious knowledge crucial in eradicating corruption - Rasuah Busters Chief
Datuk Hussamuddin stressed that corruption is clearly destructive, undermining both society and the nation. However, he noted that the solution begins at home.

SHAH ALAM - Parents play a crucial role in instilling family values and must deepen their understanding of religion to combat corruption at its roots effectively.
Karangkraf Group advisor and Rasuah Busters Chief Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacub emphasised the importance of aligning religious knowledge with practice.
He highlighted that parents are the primary influencers, shaping their children’s values within the home.
“The blame does not lie with the Prime Minister, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), the police, or anyone else.
"It lies with the millions of parents out there. They must take responsibility for raising morally upright individuals who will succeed in both this life and the hereafter," he said.
He stressed that corruption is clearly destructive, undermining both society and the nation. However, he noted that the solution begins at home.
“By transforming our families, fostering love and trust, fearing God, and striving for paradise, insya-Allah, we will be safe,” Hussamuddin said.
Hussamuddin shared these thoughts during his closing speech at the Bicara Bina Negara forum, themed Family: The Main Defence Against Corruption, held in conjunction with International Anti-Corruption Day (HARA) 2024 at the Karangkraf Complex on Thursday.
The forum, hosted by Ismail Adnan featured renowned speakers including preacher Roslan Mohamed, Head of the Counselling Unit at the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) Md Noh Saiman and parenting author Adlil Rajiah.
Hussamuddin also expressed optimism about the fight against corruption since 2021, citing the forum’s comprehensive discussions as evidence of progress in transforming the nation’s moral values and character.
He further emphasised that corruption and other social problems could be addressed if family systems were strengthened through robust moral foundations.
