World #QuranHour 2025 aims to strengthen faith, responsibility
The event seeks to instill values of responsibility, sincerity and truthfulness among Muslims while encouraging greater appreciation of the Quran.

GOMBAK - World #QuranHour 2025 is set to take place at Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Mosque, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Gombak on March 25.
Drawing inspiration from Surah Al-Saff with the theme #SavingTheUmmah, the event seeks to instill values of responsibility, sincerity and truthfulness among Muslims while encouraging greater appreciation of the Quran.
International student Said Ouedraogo, 35, who is studying Quranic Tafsir at IIUM, highlighted the importance of responsibility in everyday life.
"This means that Muslims must have a sense of responsibility when undertaking any task, including when making mistakes. For example, if I break something, I must take responsibility by paying for the damages and apologising.
"The concept is simple, but it is extremely important to instil within society, whether in the workplace or at university," he told Sinar.
He added that the leadership of Prophet Muhammad SAW and other prophets serves as an example for the Muslim community in raising a generation that upholds truth, faith and honesty while rejecting falsehood.
"That is why I support the organisation of World #QuranHour, as it is an initiative that helps us draw closer to the Quran.
"Through the appreciation of the Quran, we can strengthen our devotion to Allah SWT by following His commands and avoiding His prohibitions," he said.
Meanwhile, international student Md Rabiul Hasan, 30, who specialises in Quran and Sunnah Studies, believes that World #QuranHour should involve more international students to ensure its message reaches a wider global audience.
He explained that this would encourage more people to embrace the Quran’s teachings while fostering unity among Muslims worldwide.
"At IIUM, there are many Muslim communities, such as those from Palestine, Bangladesh and India. If collaborations with these communities can be established, I believe the programme would be even more effective.
"Additionally, if the programme could be held twice a year, it would be even better, as it would provide more opportunities for people to participate," he said.
World #QuranHour 2025 aspires to be more than just an event; it aims to create a lasting impact by strengthening faith and promoting the values of the Quran among Muslims globally.
