School removes mirrors in toilets to prevent students from loitering
"Mirrors can encourage students to stay longer in the toilets, often in large groups, which may make some other students feel uncomfortable."

LONDON - A school in Welton, England has removed all mirrors in the toilets, citing concerns that students were spending too much time there and neglecting their classes.
William Farr Comprehensive principal Grant Edgar said that the decision was made as mirrors encouraged students to linger in the toilets, often in large groups.
"Mirrors can encourage students to stay longer in the toilets, often in large groups, which may make some other students feel uncomfortable," he said.
He added that students who require a mirror for medical reasons could request one at the guest counter.
The move, however, has sparked debate among parents, with many criticising it as extreme, unusual and unreasonable.
This is not the first time such a policy has been implemented.
In Jan 2024, a school in North Carolina, United States (US), took a similar approach after discovering students were spending time in the toilets recording TikTok videos.
Meanwhile, in 2023, Christopher Whitehead Language College in Worcester replaced mirrors in the girls' toilets with posters equating makeup to dangerous drugs.
