Early birds at Iftar Ala Madinah score free drinks
Attendees applaud organised event at Karangkraf

SHAH ALAM – Visitors to Iftar Ala Madinah who arrived early and were wearing red received free drink coupons, a perk starting as early as 6pm.
Siti Fatimah Rahim, a 42-year-old banking executive, shared that she was fortunate to be among the earliest arrivals and received a RM2 coupon for a free drink at the designated beverage stall.
She stated that this initiative had attracted much attention, showing that Karangkraf is open to suggestions and improvements for this year’s event.
"This is my third year bringing my family to break fast at Iftar Ala Madinah. The preparations and operations this year are more organised compared to last year, which was quite crowded.
"This year, only mineral water is provided, and those who want sweet drinks can purchase them here as well. I was lucky to get a free drink just because I happened to wear red.
"Such initiatives are exciting, as visitors don’t expect to be lucky that day. I will definitely invite more people to come and support Iftar Ala Madinah," she said.
Factory worker Hafiz Abd Rahman, 37, shared a similar view, commenting that this year’s event felt more systematic, particularly with the introduction of a daily contest where individuals wearing specific colours are rewarded.
"This wasn’t available last year, but now it is, making it more interesting. We just need to download the Sinar app, show proof to the crew on duty, and we receive a coupon that can be redeemed at the beverage stall. It’s very easy!
"I feel that this year’s event is well-organised, so no further improvements are needed—everything is sufficient and comfortable," he said.
Nur Asyikin Abdul Aziz, 34, a clerk, agreed with Fatimah and Hafiz, noting that Iftar Ala Madinah has its own charm, even though it was her first time visiting Karangkraf.
Despite the large crowd, she found no significant issues with the event so far.
She also appreciated the daily contests, which offered visitors a new kind of engagement beyond simply breaking fast together.
"I was excited to be among the first 50. I love this idea because I got a free drink and the vendors offer various flavours such as watermelon, mango, iced tea and many more," she said.
