KUALA LUMPUR – The autopsy on the body of a Customs Tribunal officer, who was found dead at the Treasury Department of the Finance Ministry in Putrajaya, yesterday, has been classified as a sudden death case.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said the autopsy was conducted between 11am and 1.30pm, today.

He said the procedure was carried out by a pathologist from the Forensic and Pathology Department of the Sultan Idris Shah Hospital (Hospital Serdang).

"The cause of death is 'compression of the neck due to ligature strangulation.'

"Based on the autopsy report and the pathologist's statement, the investigation is still under SDR (sudden death report)," he said in a statement, today.

It was reported that the 45-year-old victim was found dead, yesterday.

His body was discovered lying on the office floor, with the neck and legs bound with cable ties.

However, a police inspection at the scene found no signs of foul play.
