KUALA LUMPUR - K-pop sensation G-Dragon is making a highly anticipated return to the global stage with his 2025 Übermensch World Tour.

As part of the first phase (Phase 1) of the tour, the leader of popular K-pop group BigBang will be holding back-to-back concerts in Kuala Lumpur on July 19 and 20 at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil.

A grand comeback after eight years

This marks the singer-rapper's first solo world tour in eight years, since the massive success of his 2017 tour, which drew 650,000 fans with 36 performances.

Fans in Malaysia last saw the sensational rapper live in 2017 at Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur during his ACT III, M.O.T.T.E World Tour, making his return even more exciting.

AEG Presents Asia, a key organiser for the event, announced the Kuala Lumpur tour stop via Instagram, confirming the dates and venue.

The concert is expected to feature live performances of his latest hits, including "Power," "Home Sweet Home," "Too Bad," and "Drama."

Übermensch Tour: A global phenomenon

G-Dragon, who is known as the "King of K-Pop," officially announced the Übermensch World Tour following the release of his long-awaited third studio album, Übermensch, in February 2025.

The album that was released by Galaxy Corporation and Empire Distribution, his first full-length project in over 11 years, has received widespread acclaim from both critics and fans.

Übermensch also marks his first album since leaving YG Entertainment in 2023.

G-Dragon is no stranger to solo recognition. In 2013, he embarked on his first worldwide tour, One of a Kind World Tour, to support his debut EP, "One of a Kind" (2012).

This made him the first Korean solo artist to perform in Japan's dome arenas.

The tour spanned nine countries and 13 cities, attracting a total of 570,000 fans. At the time, it was the most attended concert tour by a Korean solo artist.

The Phase 1 tour schedule begins with two nights in Tokyo on May 10 and 11, followed by stops in Bulacan, Osaka, Macau, Taipei, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong.

Before kicking off the international leg, G-Dragon will first perform in his home country, South Korea on March 29 and 30 at Goyang Stadium.

Special performance at Singapore Grand Prix

Beyond the scheduled tour dates, G-Dragon is also set to perform at the Singapore Grand Prix 2025 on Oct 3, adding yet another major event to his comeback year.

As anticipation grew, fans are eagerly waiting for ticketing details to be announced.

Galaxy Corporation and AEG Presents Asia, the event’s organisers, have urged fans to stay tuned for updates.

With the King of K-Pop making a powerful return to the stage, Malaysian VIPs (G-Dragon’s fandom) can look forward to an unforgettable two-night spectacle in July.
