Singapore GE2025 sees 92.83 per cent voter turnout - ELD

The ELD noted that 5,966 out of 8,091 overseas voters turned up at the 10 designated overseas polling stations to cast their votes.

SINGAPORE - A total of 2,438,610 votes were cast in the Singapore General Election 2025 (GE2025), representing a voter turnout of 92.83 per cent of the 2,627,026 registered electors in all contested electoral divisions.

In a statement, the Elections Department (ELD) said this figure includes overseas votes which were counted at the counting centre at the ELD building on Thursday.

The ELD noted that 5,966 out of 8,091 overseas voters turned up at the 10 designated overseas polling stations to cast their votes.

Meanwhile, 7,808 out of 9,146 postal voters downloaded their postal ballots. Of these, 6,097 were received in Singapore by the deadline stipulated and 3,363 were accepted for counting.

The ELD said the total number of votes cast is also inclusive of 42,945 rejected votes.

At the May 3 election, the People’s Action Party (PAP) retained its supermajority, winning 87 out of 97 parliamentary seats, including five uncontested walkovers. - BERNAMA
