Literary fiesta: Karangkraf's Karnival Siang Malam promises books, authors and fun

SHAH ALAM – The Karnival Siang Malam Karangkraf, set to take place this July, will bring together well-known local book publishers to enliven this inaugural programme.

Buku Karangkraf Chief Executive Officer, Firdaus Hussamuddin said all works published by the involved companies, including JT Publishing, Patriots Publishing, Fixi Publishing and Sasbadi Holdings Berhad, will be gathered in the ‘Buku dan Kopi’ section.

This will create a platform for book lovers to find interesting and quality reading materials.

"Books published by Karangkraf will be sold and displayed together with other publications according to the booths provided.

"Visitors who attend can read books while enjoying coffee sold in the nearby area,” she said.

Firdaus, who is also the Karangkraf Chairman, stated that all new books sold at the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (PBAKL) last month will be sold at affordable prices.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet authors in meet-and-greet sessions held at the ‘Buku dan Kopi’ section.

"I hope fellow publishers will help promote this carnival and bring along book authors to meet with fans of the reading materials published.

"I would like to remind book lovers to bring trolley bags to make it easier for them to carry the books they purchase later," she said.

The Karnival Siang Malam Karangkraf is scheduled to take place from July 25 to July 27 at Dataran Karangkraf, Seksyen 15 in Shah Alam.

It will offer various exciting activities, including the largest giant maze in Selangor, a haunted house, go-kart activities and Pasar Saloma.

The carnival, which runs from 9am to 12 midnight, also gives visitors the chance to join lucky draws and win exclusive prizes such as W Moto ES250 and Benelli Panarea motorcycles, theme park tickets to Berjaya Times Square Kuala Lumpur, electrical and electronic items from Russell Taylors, and more.
