Kelantan cops raid 'gay party', seize hundreds of condoms, HIV medication
Among them were individuals working in the public sector.

KOTA BHARU – Kelantan police raided a private “gay party” involving more than 100 men, believed to be in their 20s to 30s, at a bungalow in Kemumin here in mid-June.
State police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat said the operation was carried out at around 1am following a tip-off from the public and undercover surveillance by a special task force.
“When the team arrived at the bungalow, only about 20 men were at the scene,” he revealed at a press conference after officiating the Kelantan police headquarters’ monthly assembly on Thursday.

Although no sexual activity had taken place at the time of the raid, he said initial investigations found signs that preparations for such acts were already in motion.
He said police found hundreds of condoms and HIV medication during a thorough search of the bungalow.
“During questioning, the individuals admitted to being part of the gay community and said the event was organised for free, with promotions made through social media platforms,” he said.
Three men were found in possession of homosexual pornographic material and were being investigated under Section 292 of the Penal Code for distributing obscene content.
Police have also recorded statements from the rest of the participants.
Some admitted to offering same-sex services and being HIV-positive.
Among them were individuals working in the public sector.
Yusoff stressed that the state police took the matter seriously and will continue to keep a close watch on similar activities involving the group.
