RM100 one-off aid for all Malaysians aged 18 and above ahead of National Day - PM
The initiative, he said aimed at easing the financial burden of the people and recognising their resilience and contributions, especially during challenging times.

SHAH ALAM – All Malaysians aged 18 and above will receive a one-off RM100 credited directly to their MyKad under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) programme, a special National Day gift from the government on Aug 31.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim made the announcement in a special nationwide live broadcast today, calling it a gesture of appreciation to the people.
The initiative, he said aimed at easing the financial burden of the people and recognising their resilience and contributions, especially during challenging times.
“This assistance can be used from Aug 31, 2025 until Dec 31, 2025 to purchase essential goods at more than 4,100 participating outlets nationwide.
“These include major supermarket chains such as Mydin, Lotus’s, Econsave and 99 Speedmart, as well as local grocery stores in every district across the country.
“This aid is provided on an individual basis, not by the household. For example, a family consisting of a husband, wife, and two adult children would receive a total of RM400,” he said on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister, who also holds the Finance Minister portfolio, said the initiative is expected to benefit approximately 22 million people across the country and involves an allocation of RM2 billion.
In total, the government’s combined budget for the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) and Sara programmes will increase from RM13 billion this year to RM15 billion in 2025.
"This is the first time in our nation’s history that cash assistance is being extended to all adult citizens," he added.
Anwar stressed that there were Malaysians who might not need the financial aid, particularly those who were more financially secure.
He noted that the government hope any unused or unspent funds by the end of the year could be reallocated to support targeted aid programmes for vulnerable groups in 2026.
