SHAH ALAM – Setiawangsa Member of Parliament Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad has reaffirmed his commitment to Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and Pakatan Harapan (PH), making it clear that he intends to serve his full term and contest in the next General Election (GE) under the same political banner.

“I have said this before. My loyalty lies with the mandate given to me by the people, which is to serve as part of Keadilan and PH. That was the platform I contested on during the last GE, and I intend to see my term through to the end.

“At present, I am focused on my media work and I believe everyone makes their own choices. We all have our roles to play, but for me, until the end of this term, I will not be leaving the party," he told Sinar Daily at the Karangkraf Group Complex yesterday.

The former Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability minister said his stance was rooted in respect for the trust placed in him when he was elected, highlighting that political instability in recent years had eroded public confidence.

“The reason is simple. I was elected on this mandate and I respect that. We have seen in the past, especially between 2018 and 2022, how quickly politicians have switched sides. Malaysians are tired of that constant back-and-forth.

“As for the next GE, my focus and hope is that Keadilan will once again give me the platform to contest in Setiawangsa," he added.
