PUCHONG – Lotus’s Ceria Charity Run 2025 successfully raised RM400,000 to support 6,400 students from 63 adopted schools through contributions from the public and over 120 brand partners.

According to Lotus’s Malaysia corporate services executive director Azliza Azmel, all proceeds will go towards the Lotus's Pintar Smart Up School Programme, which focuses on long-term educational support.

“This is actually a long-term programme called the Lotus Pintar Smart Up programme and we have already, as you know, previously rolled out the workshop on Smart Shopper Plus.

Azliza added that she hoped the funds will give them the capacity to do something different and broaden the programme’s reach to cover all adopted schools.

This year's charity run featured three categories, in which 15km, 10km and 5km.

Runners began their run in batches starting from 6am, with some participants arriving as early as 4.30am to secure parking and warm up.

“I was amazed with the whole sort of crowd and to see that people with children and the elderly are actually giving the spirit of unity coming to play,” Azliza added.

Azliza emphasised that the charity run goes beyond just promoting health and wellbeing, as it encourages families to come together, run or walk in the sun, and bond over a shared experience.

She also stated that this year’s event was especially memorable with a noticeable increase in participation from both runners and brand partners, which created a more festive and vibrant atmosphere than in previous years.

“I think there is more participation from the runners as well as our brand partners. There are lots of games now, you know, that you can see and there are so many mascots this year and I think that was also very relevant.

“We’ve set up different styles of booths for visitors to sample, and more importantly, we had Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) joining us this year with 12 booths — which I think made a really meaningful impact for them as well,” she said.

One of the highlights was also the Sinar Daily booth, which drew crowds with its Smartlympics trivia game. Visitors competed in fun category-based duels, with winners walking away with exclusive prizes.
