KUALA LUMPUR – United States President Donald Trump arrives at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) accompanied closely by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He travelled in his signature armoured vehicle, The Beast, to attend the 47th Asean Summit.
This marks Trump’s first visit to Malaysia and the Southeast Asian region since taking office for a second term as US president in January.
The 79-year-old leader, dressed in a dark blue suit and red tie, was seen entering the convention centre alongside other members of the US delegation.
The Beast, a luxury limousine said to be among the most secure vehicles in the world, arrived at KLCC at about 10.54am, escorted by a convoy of security vehicles and US personnel.
The five-metre-long mobile fortress, weighing eight tonnes with bulletproof doors 20 centimetres thick, is reportedly equipped with a 120-volt system capable of delivering an electric shock to anyone attempting to touch it.
The last time the car was in Malaysia was about ten years ago when Barack Obama made an official visit as US president.
Trump’s Boeing 747 VC-25A aircraft, known as Air Force One or The Flying White House, landed safely at the Bunga Raya Complex of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at 9.54am.

Anwar and Trump are scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting today.
Both leaders are expected to discuss efforts to strengthen cooperation in trade and investment, defence and security, as well as people-to-people relations under the Malaysia-US Comprehensive Partnership.
They are also expected to exchange views on regional and international developments of mutual concern and sign several important documents related to trade and security.
The visit is seen as an opportunity to further enhance Malaysia-US ties and open a new chapter in strategic bilateral cooperation.
Malaysia and the US have maintained strong diplomatic relations since 1957.
The US remains one of Malaysia’s largest trading partners and investors, with total trade amounting to RM324.91 billion (USD$71.39 billion) in 2024.
Trump will be in Malaysia for two days, from Oct 26 to 27, at the invitation of the Prime Minister as Chair of Asean 2025, following the consensus of all member states.
In addition to the 47th Asean Summit, his official visit also coincides with the 13th Asean-US Summit and the 20th East Asia Summit.
The Asean Summit and related meetings are being held from Oct 26 to 28 under Malaysia’s Asean Chairmanship 2025, themed Inclusion and Sustainability.
It is one of the largest gatherings in the bloc’s history, serving as a vital platform to deepen cooperation in addressing regional and global challenges in a unified and inclusive manner.
More than 30 heads of state and government, including Asean leaders and key dialogue partners such as the US, China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, are attending the event.
This is Malaysia’s fifth time chairing Asean since the bloc’s establishment in 1967, after previous terms in 2015, 2005, 1997 and 1977.
