Nine routes closed in Perak due to landslides and floods

IPOH – Nine major routes across Perak are currently closed as authorities respond to multiple landslides, flash floods and fallen trees that have disrupted road networks in recent days.

The affected districts included Perak Tengah, Manjung, Muallim and Hilir Perak, with motorists urged to stay updated on alternative routes.

According to reports from the Perak Public Works Department as of 4pm on Thursday, road closures had been enforced in several locations due to damaged road shoulders and flooding.

In Perak Tengah, two stretches of Jalan Gelung Pepuyu had been shut down after the road shoulders collapsed at Section 11.6 for 60 metres and at Section 5.1 for 15 metres.

In Manjung, three routes had also been closed, involving Jalan Pekan Pangkor–Pasir Bogak and Jalan Ulu Licin due to road collapse, as well as Jalan Changkat Jering–Kampung Koh, which had been submerged by floodwaters.

In Muallim, the FT1153 Jalan Felda Trolak Timur route had been closed for 50 metres because of road collapse.

Three additional routes in Hilir Perak had been affected, namely Jalan Teluk Intan–Bidor from the Ganda junction at Batu 7 to the access road leading to the Teluk Intan Municipal Council Disposal Site, Jalan Kampung Selabak near Selabak Corner and Jalan Kampung Padang Tembak, all of which had been closed after being inundated by rising water levels.

Following the closures, the department had advised members of the public to check the agency’s official Facebook page for updates on recommended alternative routes.
