Suria KLCC drops Malaysia's first outdoor skating rink and everyone is losing it

SHAH ALAM - Kuala Lumpur just unlocked a whole new festive flex because Suria KLCC has officially been recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records for launching the nation’s first outdoor skating rink and everyone’s already plotting their next photo dump.

The massive attraction is part of the mall’s ‘A Majestic Christmas’ campaign running from Nov 22, this year to Jan 4, 2026.

Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd executive director and chief executive officer (CEO) Francis Tan said the rink was designed to give festive season lovers something totally different, this year.

The rink, officially named the "Festive Skating Experience" and circles; 80-foot Christmas tree outside the mall and let’s be real, skating with the Petronas Twin Towers glowing behind you is basically a movie scene.

"It is open to the public daily from Nov 26 to Dec 25 and is expected to be one of the main attractions of the festive season, drawing not only local visitors but also international tourists," Francis said, already hinting that it’s about to be packed.

He also reminded everyone why the recognition matters.

"Suria KLCC is not merely a shopping destination but a place where memories are made.

"The recognition as the first outdoor skating rink in Malaysia marks our effort to elevate the holiday experience to be more meaningful, immersive and world-class," he said.
