KUALA LUMPUR - Former national player Muhammad Roslin Hashim has joined Egypt as the head coach of the country’s national badminton team.

Roslin, a former world number one, said he signed a three-year contract with the Egyptian Badminton Federation (EBF) earlier this month.

He said his main task is to groom the Egyptian squad for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

"I’m taking on a new scope of work. The challenge is indeed great, and from what I see, the responsibilities I have to shoulder are not easy, not just as a coach there but as a technical director and head coach.

"It’s a huge responsibility, and I will try my best,” he told Bernama recently.

He added that the EBF's offer was the best opportunity for him to apply all his knowledge to help develop badminton in Egypt.

"We can see that the level of badminton over there is not very high. So I want to do something to push the Egyptian players out of their comfort zone,” he said. - BERNAMA
