Noraini returns to Cabinet with ministerial comeback after demotion

PUTRAJAYA – Umno Women chief Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad has regained full ministerial status after being appointed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to lead the Plantation and Commodities Ministry.
The Parit Sulong MP previously headed the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry under former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob from 2021 to 2022.
She was later moved to a lower role, serving as Deputy Minister in the same ministry under Anwar’s administration.
Today’s major Cabinet reshuffle saw Noraini return to the core Cabinet line-up, replacing Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani.
Johari was concurrently reassigned to a new portfolio as Investment, Trade and Industry Minister.
