Addendum Order: Najib disappointed as case drags on for two years

KUALA LUMPUR – Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has expressed disappointment following the High Court’s decision to dismiss his application to compel the government to implement the Addendum Order that would allow him to serve the remainder of his prison sentence under house arrest.
His lawyer, Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah said the disappointment stemmed from unresolved issues surrounding the Addendum Order, which have persisted for nearly two years.
“Of course, he (Najib) is very disappointed. The decision on the Addendum Order was on Jan 29, 2024, and now it has been almost two years.
“All this while, we were misled as the existence of the addendum was denied.
“We are seeking the original copy of the Addendum Order because it is crucial to determine who is in possession of it, how it was issued and who concealed it,” he told reporters when met at the Kuala Lumpur Courts Complex lobby on Monday.
