Azmin resigns as PN secretary-general after Muhyiddin’s exit
Azmin said his appointment to the post was made under the authority of PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Mohd Yassin.

SHAH ALAM – Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has announced that he will step down as Perikatan Nasional (PN) Secretary-General, effective Jan 1, 2026.
In a statement on Tuesday, Azmin said his appointment to the post was made under the authority of PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Mohd Yassin.
“I have therefore decided to step down from the position effective Jan 1, 2026,” he said.
Azmin also announced his resignation as Chairman of the PN Selangor Liaison Committee, with effect from the same date.

He expressed his appreciation to all parties for their cooperation throughout his tenure.
“The cooperation of all parties is greatly appreciated, and I extend my thanks,” he said.
Earlier, Muhyiddin announced that he would step down as PN chairman, effective January 1, 2026.
Following Muhyiddin’s announcement, Johor PN chairman Dr Sahruddin Jamal also announced his resignation, saying his appointment was made under Muhyiddin’s authority and that he had decided to step down after the latter’s resignation.
