The incident is thought to have occurred at approximately 4am, following an argument involving two individuals, one of whom reportedly opened fire.

MELAKA – Police are investigating a loud blast heard early Thursday morning, believed to have been caused by gunshots fired outside an entertainment outlet in Melaka Raya.
The incident is thought to have occurred at approximately 4am, following an argument involving two individuals, one of whom reportedly opened fire.

A witness stated that they heard sounds resembling gunfire but did not initially suspect anything serious, assuming it was a routine scuffle or loud music emanating from the outlet.
“I heard what sounded like two gunshots at around 4am but did not pay much attention to it.
“At about 6am, I saw policemen with K9 units recovering two bullet casings in front of the entertainment outlet,” the witness said.
A cleaning worker reported that a Perodua Myvi’s windscreen was shattered during the altercation before the shots were fired.
However, it is believed the shots did not hit any targets and no injuries have been reported.
Another hotel worker in the vicinity stated that they only became aware of the incident after seeing police cordon off the road at approximately 7am.
Sinar is currently seeking official confirmation on the matter from Melaka Tengah Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Christopher Patit.
