Woman in white kebaya exposed as fake flight attendant mid-flight
Her deception was uncovered when cabin crew became suspicious of her behaviour; her responses to various queries did not align with the standard operating procedures (SOP) followed by actual flight attendants.

SHAH ALAM – A 23-year-old woman caused a stir after disguising herself as a flight attendant and successfully boarding a Batik Air flight from Palembang to Jakarta.
According to Kompas, her deception was uncovered when cabin crew became suspicious of her behaviour; her responses to various queries did not align with the standard operating procedures (SOP) followed by actual flight attendants.
The woman, identified as Khairun Nisa commonly known as Nisya, is believed to be from Palembang, South Sumatra.
During the incident on Tuesday, Nisya was reportedly dressed in a full Batik Air uniform, complete with a counterfeit identification card and a cabin crew luggage bag.
Reports indicate that she managed to enter the aircraft cabin using a valid ticket purchased as a regular passenger.
However, when interacting with the authentic crew members, she failed to provide convincing answers regarding basic flight attendant duties.
This lack of professional knowledge raised immediate suspicion and she was detained for questioning after the aircraft landed in Jakarta.
Viral videos circulating on social media show Nisya wearing a white kebaya with a batik skirt, her hair styled in a traditional bun and carrying a forged ID card resembling the airline’s official crew credentials.
In an open statement posted online, Nisya admitted to the ruse and apologised to Batik Air and the public.
“Yes, I did board the Batik Air flight on the Palembang–Jakarta route, ID 70-508, wearing a flight attendant uniform and equipment,” she said in a viral video.
Nisya also clarified that her family was entirely unaware of her disguise. While the exact motive remains unclear, some reports suggest she carried out the act to protect her family’s dignity or to fulfil a personal dream of being an aviator.
Batik Air has yet to issue an official statement; however, netizens and aviation safety experts have expressed alarm over the apparent lapse in airport security.
The incident has raised questions about how an individual could pose as a crew member and bypass specific checks.
Authorities are expected to investigate the matter to determine if negligence was involved.
