KUALA LUMPUR - A moderate earthquake measuring 5.5 magnitude struck the northern Maluku Sea, Indonesia, at 8.22 am today.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), in a statement, said that the quake, with a depth of 10 kilometres (km), occurred about 120 km northwest of Ternate, Indonesia.

However, there is no tsunami threat to Malaysia. - BERNAMA
