Boon Siew Honda Sweeps Allianz Malaysia Motorcycle Awards

PETALING JAYA - Boon Siew Honda emerged as the night’s biggest winner at the second edition of the Allianz Malaysia Motorcycle of the Year (MOTY) Awards, claiming multiple top honours and underlining its leadership in Malaysia’s motorcycle industry.

Boon Siew Honda, secured six major titles, reinforcing its strong market presence in Malaysia across multiple motorcycle segments.

A total of 24 awards were presented during the ceremony, including the 2026 Malaysian Motorcycle of the Year, 2026 Malaysian Rider of the Year and 2026 Malaysian Innovator of the Year.

Participation increased significantly this year, with 43 motorcycles competing compared to 28 entries previously, signalling broader industry recognition of the awards as a benchmark for excellence.

The Honda Gold Wing Airbag received the Best Malaysian Innovator award, highlighting advancements in touring safety and engineering sophistication.

The awards were evaluated by a panel comprising motoring journalist Keshy Dillon, advanced motorcycle trainer Kevin Lee and motorcycle enthusiast and former actor Jehan Miskin.

The event, hosted by Allianz Malaysia and BikesRepublic.com at the Tropicana Golf and Country Resort, celebrated excellence across the country’s motorcycle ecosystem, with increased participation and new award categories compared to last year’s inaugural edition.

As the title sponsor, Allianz Malaysia reaffirmed its commitment to road safety, industry development and innovation, while the awards highlighted the rapid growth of Malaysia’s motorcycle sector, emphasizing innovation, safety and accessibility across the industry.

Allianz Malaysia Chief Executive Officer Sean Wang said the growing number of entries reflects the industry’s momentum and enthusiasm.

“This is our second year hosting the MOTY Awards and the positive response from the industry is a testament to the growing passion and innovation within Malaysia's motorcycle industry.

“As the title sponsor, Allianz Malaysia is proud to celebrate the achievements of both manufacturers and riders, while reinforcing our commitment to safety and innovation,” he said.

The continued expansion of the MOTY Awards reflects the growing maturity of Malaysia’s motorcycle sector, with stakeholders increasingly prioritising innovation, safety standards and rider accessibility as the industry evolves.

As part of Allianz Malaysia’s 25th anniversary celebrations, its subsidiary Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad has enhanced its Allianz Motorcycle Plus coverage, offering additional benefits to policyholders.

Customers who purchase or renew an Allianz Motorcycle Plus policy (Comprehensive or Third Party) between March 3 and Dec 31 will receive increased Road Accident Coverage of RM25,000 for death or permanent disability, compared with the standard RM10,000.

Additional benefits include hospital income cover of RM100 per day for up to 60 days, complimentary roadside assistance covering roundtrip distances of up to 50km and a one-time RM1,000 flood relief benefit under the Rahmah Insurance Initiative for motorcycles with engine capacities of 250cc and below.
