Sungei Ujong Undang did not receive invitation to state assembly sitting
Official invitations are typically received about a week before the event, but none was issued this time.

SEREMBAN – The Undang of Luak Sungei Ujong, Datuk Mubarak Dohak, who was reportedly removed from his position earlier, is understood not to have received an invitation to attend the opening ceremony of the first sitting of the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly (DUN) on Thursday.
Confirming the matter, his private secretary Ahmad Hanafi Ruzlan said official invitations are typically received about a week before the event, but none was issued this time.
“The Undang of Luak Sungei Ujong did not receive any invitation to attend the opening ceremony. As far as I know, the Undang of Jelebu received one, but I am unsure about the others.
“Usually, the letter is hand-delivered by staff from the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang (DKU) about a week before the event, but this time there was none,” he told Sinar on Thursday.
He added that a declaration letter on the removal of Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir as the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, signed by the four Undang, had been submitted to the DKU on Tuesday afternoon.
The letter was also sent to the office of Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun and the DKU secretary.
Efforts by Sinar to obtain further comment from DKU secretary Raja Norazli Raja Nordin were unsuccessful.
On April 19, Mubarak and the three other Undang held a meeting where they allegedly decided to remove Tuanku Muhriz as the state ruler.
The other three chieftains are the Undang of Jelebu Datuk Maarof Mat Rashad, Undang Johol Datuk Muhammed Abdullah and Undang Rembau Datuk Abdul Rahim Yasin.
They claimed the decision was made due to misconduct on the part of Tuanku Muhriz.
However, the Negri Sembilan government refuses to accept or recognise this as Aminuddin said this was because Mubarak no longer had the authority as the Undang of Sungei Ujong.
"The state government neither acceopts nor recognises the declaration as it was not in line with Articles 10 to 13 of the Laws of the Constitution of Negri Sembilan 1959," he said in a statement Monday (April 20).
Aminuddin said Mubarak himself had been removed as Undang on May 13, 2025.
DKU which sat on April 17, he said, had also agreed to advise and accept the recommendations of the Telaga Undang and Waris Klana Hulu Sg Ujong who had agreed to remove Mubarak as Undang.
The DKU, he said, is the highest authority governing the four Undangs or chieftains of Negeri Sembilan.
The removal, he said, was due to 33 offences related to the traditions and customary laws committed by Mubarak.
Meanwhile, Negeri Sembilan State Secretary Datuk Mohd Zafir Ibrahim said the DUN opening ceremony would proceed as scheduled, with Tuanku Muhriz in attendance.
In a separate statement on April 21, community leaders from Luak Rembau reaffirmed that any attempt to remove or challenge the Yang di-Pertuan Besar is invalid, against custom and without legal basis.
They also urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information and to continue respecting the royal institution as a pillar of the state’s sovereignty.
