SUNGAI PETANI – Police have confirmed that no arrests have been made so far in connection with a man suspected of assaulting his wife in an incident at Ambangan Heights, although investigations are actively ongoing.

Kuala Muda district police chief Assistant Commissioner Hanyan Ramlan said police were tracking down the man to assist in the investigation.

“No arrest has been made,” he said briefly.

Previously, media reports stated that a woman suffered injuries to several parts of her body after allegedly being beaten by her husband, resulting in a miscarriage.

Following the incident, a police report was lodged by the victim’s family to help locate the 43-year-old man and to urge further investigation.

The incident is believed to have occurred after an argument between the victim, a civil servant and her husband, during which she was severely beaten using a clothes hanger, water hose, curtain rod and a broomstick that broke during the assault.

The victim reportedly sustained injuries to her hand, a fractured left finger, facial bruises and abdominal injuries.
