Another suspected drunk driving case in Klang leaves motorcyclist critically injured after wrong-way crash
He is believed to have driven recklessly against traffic for approximately 3.5 kilometres before the collision.

KLANG - A motorcyclist in his 20s was seriously injured after being struck by a car driven against the flow of traffic by a man believed to be under the influence of alcohol in an incident at Persiaran Kota, Klang.
The incident occurred at about 12.30am, when the victim was thrown from his motorcycle upon impact, sustaining severe injuries to his body and right leg.
South Klang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Lim Jit Huey said early investigations found that the suspect, a man in his 30s driving a Perodua Bezza, was travelling from Port Klang towards Shah Alam and is believed to have driven recklessly against traffic for approximately 3.5 kilometres before the collision.
“Initial screening tests found that the car driver tested positive for alcohol. The suspect was immediately arrested for further action and a remand application was obtained from Klang Magistrate Azilah Mat until May 15 to assist investigations.
“The case is being investigated under Section 44(1A) of the Road Transport Act 1987, namely driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs causing injury and if convicted, carries a minimum imprisonment of seven to 10 years and a fine between RM30,000 and RM50,000, as well as suspension of driving licence,” he said in a statement on Thursday.
Following the incident, the victim is receiving critical treatment at the Red Zone of Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR), Klang, while the suspect sustained only minor injuries.
Police are urging witnesses or individuals with information to come forward by contacting the Investigating Officer Inspector Mohd Khairulnizam Abdul Talib or visiting any nearby police station.
Authorities also reminded road users that driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is a serious offence that endangers public safety and called for greater responsibility on the roads to prevent further tragedies.
