Calls for transparency over alleged minor rape case involving teacher in Pasir Gudang
As of now, authorities have yet to publicly confirm the allegations circulating online or release further details regarding the case.

SHAH ALAM - Muda secretary-general Ainie Haziqah Shafii has called for transparency and accountability following allegations surrounding an underage rape case in Pasir Gudang involving a school teacher and a 12-year-old student.
In a video, she raised concerns over claims circulating on social media regarding a teacher who was allegedly involved in a sexual relationship with a 12-year-old student in Masai, Pasir Gudang.
According to Ainie, the issue surfaced following a Facebook post by activist and teacher Muhammad Fadli Salleh, who claimed that a teacher had allegedly engaged in sexual acts with the student.
“The issue is not about a consensual sexual relationship. This is statutory rape involving a 12-year-old child under Section 376 of the Penal Code.
“Under Malaysian law, any sexual act involving a child below 16 years old, with or without consent, constitutes rape and is not considered a lawful relationship,” she said.
Ainie said the allegations reportedly came to light after a teacher allegedly witnessed the 12-year-old student behaving inappropriately with another student before the matter was referred to the school’s discipline teacher and counsellor.
She claimed it was later discovered that the student had been involved in sexual relations with a teacher from the school.
According to the claims, the school principal had conducted an internal investigation before reporting the matter to the Pasir Gudang District Education Office (PPD), while the victim’s mother had also lodged a police report.
However, Ainie claimed the police report was allegedly made against the PPD and the school for purportedly failing to take sufficient action against the teacher involved.
“There were also allegations claiming that the teacher intended to marry the student once she turned 18,” she said.
Ainie further questioned whether actions allegedly taken by the Pasir Gudang PPD were sufficient, claiming that the teacher was still allowed to continue teaching at another school despite investigations.
“If the claims made in the post are true, where is the accountability of the Pasir Gudang PPD? Are we willing to allow such a teacher to continue teaching in schools around the Pasir Gudang area?,” she added.
She said the allegations had caused concern among parents, especially those with daughters studying in schools in the Masai area and called on the Education Ministry to take immediate action over the matter.
“This is definitely not an isolated case. It is neither new nor rare. These are cases that allegedly happen far too often in schools.
“The question now is whether the actions taken are enough to ensure the safety of our children, especially young girls, in schools,” she said.
Ainie also demanded that authorities release an official report detailing actions allegedly taken in response to the case to restore public confidence and prevent similar incidents from recurring.
“Schools are supposed to be safe spaces. How many isolated cases have been quietly covered up? How many parents and students actually have the courage to speak up?
“It is heartbreaking to see schools and children becoming victims of individuals driven by sexual predatory behaviour,” she said.
As of now, authorities have yet to publicly confirm the allegations circulating online or release further details regarding the case.
