Over 150,000 vehicles a day expected on WCE highway over Aidiladha break
A significant increase in traffic flow is anticipated due to balik kampung travel and holiday activities throughout the period.

SHAH ALAM - More than 150,000 vehicles a day are expected to use the West Coast Expressway (WCE) during peak days coinciding with Hari Raya Aidiladha, the school holidays and a long weekend.
WCE said in a statement on Tuesday that a significant increase in traffic flow is anticipated due to balik kampung travel and holiday activities throughout the period.
To ensure smooth traffic flow and user comfort, various preparedness measures will be put in place, including the suspension of all construction and maintenance works involving lane closures, except for unforeseen emergency work. Tow trucks and other assistance vehicles will also be stationed at strategic locations along the highway.
"The Emergency Response Team (ERT) and patrol personnel will be reinforced to ensure assistance can be rendered swiftly and continuously around the clock.
"These proactive measures are taken to ensure any incident can be addressed promptly, thereby minimising disruption to main traffic flow," the statement said.

To enhance the travel experience, users are encouraged to use the latest version of the WCE mobile app, which offers route navigation and information on facilities such as electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, motorcycle rest shelters and emergency phones. The app also features an artificial intelligence (AI) assistant and real-time traffic updates.
Digital journey planning is further supported by full integration of the PayDirect Touch 'n Go system at all WCE toll plazas, allowing charges to be deducted directly from e-wallet balances without the need to manually top up cards.
WCE also provides six Rest and Service Areas (R&R) equipped with basic amenities including parking, surau and toilets. Food stalls are available at selected locations, at Sungai Nyior R&R in both directions and Bukit Kapar R&R northbound, while lay-bys with basic facilities are available at every toll plaza.
WCE Managing Director Lyndon Alfred Felix advised road users to remain vigilant throughout the high-traffic period.
"During this period of heavy traffic movement, we advise all users to plan their journeys in advance and to prioritise safety at all times.
"With digital facility support and operational preparedness, WCE is committed to ensuring a safer and more efficient travel experience.
"WCE wishes everyone a Happy Hari Raya Aidiladha, Happy Wesak Day and a pleasant holiday. Drive safely," he said.

Motorists are also advised to ensure their vehicles are in good condition before setting off, to observe speed limits and to maintain a safe following distance. All passengers must wear seatbelts, and child restraint seats (CRS) must be used where applicable. Users should also ensure sufficient e-wallet or Touch 'n Go card balance to avoid transaction issues at toll plazas.
Drivers are encouraged to practise courteous and patient driving, and to take adequate rest at R&R stops or lay-bys to avoid fatigue and the risk of microsleep.
The WCE mobile app is available for free download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Users are also encouraged to check current traffic conditions via the in-app CCTV feature before beginning their journey.
