Police hunts daughter of Malaysian woman held in Nigeria over 31kg drug haul
She claimed the trip was sponsored by her daughter and that she had been in Thailand for about two weeks.

SHAH ALAM - Police are tracking down the daughter of a 63-year-old Malaysian woman arrested in Nigeria for allegedly attempting to smuggle 31 kilogrammes of cannabis strain Canadian Loud into the country.
Federal police Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the department had received information from Nigeria's National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) regarding the arrest.
"The department will cooperate with all relevant law enforcement agencies to complete the investigation, including Thailand," he said when contacted on Wednesday.

The suspect, Ting Hung Kiong, was arrested on May 17 by the NDLEA upon arrival at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, as reported by The Guardian Nigeria.
Ting, a naturalised Malaysian citizen, had arrived in Nigeria on an Emirates flight from Thailand via Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Preliminary investigations suggest she had travelled from Malaysia to Thailand before proceeding to Nigeria, carrying two large pieces of luggage containing the prohibited substances.
During questioning, she claimed the trip was sponsored by her daughter and that she had been in Thailand for about two weeks before receiving the package to be delivered to Nigeria.
Hussein said NCID had since launched investigations to locate the suspect's daughter.
In a separate operation, the NDLEA also seized a large quantity of other controlled substances, including over 1.8 million opioid pills of Tapentadol 250mg estimated to be worth around 2.19 billion naira (over RM6 million).
Another suspect was also arrested at a separate airport after allegedly attempting to smuggle cocaine concealed in their body while travelling abroad.
The NDLEA said a series of operations across several states including Lagos, Edo, Ekiti and Kano led to further significant drug seizures and the arrest of several other individuals suspected to be involved in international drug distribution networks.
Nigerian authorities said they continue to intensify operations to curb drug smuggling activities, which have been increasingly prevalent through air routes and international couriers, as part of the NDLEA's ongoing efforts to dismantle cross-border drug networks.
