Girl, 9, rescued after being confined to storage room, fed twice daily
Her ordeal came to an end when police rescued her from a house in Taman Tuanku Jaafar on Sunday night.

SEREMBAN - A nine-year-old girl was not only left to live in a storage room behind her house, but was given food just twice a day.
Her ordeal came to an end when police rescued her from a house in Taman Tuanku Jaafar on Sunday night.
Seremban District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Yatim Osman said authorities received a report regarding the neglect of a young girl at 7.22pm.
"Police received information that the victim was believed to have been confined in a storage room at the back of her house.
"Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim is the adopted child of a family, having been taken in since she was one year and eight months old," he said in a statement on Monday.

He added that throughout the school holidays in May and June, the victim was left to stay in the unlocked storage room and was only given meals twice a day.
The girl was only allowed into the main house to use the toilet, after which she had to return to the storage room.
"The victim was also frequently scolded and beaten by the suspect, her adoptive mother, over minor matters such as stealing food at night.
"Following that, police rescued the victim and sent her to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital Seremban for treatment," he said.
He said a medical examination found the victim sustained minor injuries, including scratches on her shoulder and right cheek.
A 46-year-old woman was subsequently arrested to assist in investigations, and the case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
He added that a remand application for the suspect would be filed at the Seremban Magistrate's Court on Monday for further investigation.
"Members of the public with any information may channel it directly to the investigating officer, Inspector Zulfitri Abd Razak, at 06-6033222," he said.
