SHAH ALAM - The victim and suspect in the murder case of a private higher education institution (IPTS) student found dead at a condominium near here on Tuesday are believed to have known each other and had a special relationship.
Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Shazeli Kahar, said initial investigations also found that the motive for the incident was believed to stem from a personal issue involving emotions, feelings and daily expenses.
"So far, we believe the motive for the incident is due to a personal issue involving emotions, feelings and daily expenses," he said at a press conference at the Selangor Contingent Police Headquarters here on Wednesday.

He said the focus of the investigation is now on a foreign man who was detained at the scene shortly after the victim's body was found.
"So far, there is no indication linking other individuals to the incident. However, police are not ruling out any possibility until the investigation is fully completed," he said.
He said several pieces of evidence had been seized, including the weapon used in the incident.
"Initial examination by the forensic team found several injuries on the victim's body," he said.
Shazeli said his team is seeking further confirmation from the institution concerned, including the duration of study, field of study and the relationship between the two individuals.
"So far, we have recorded statements from several neighbours and witnesses near the scene to assist the investigation," he said.
Media earlier reported that police received information about the incident at 11.03am before finding the victim, aged in her twenties, lifeless with injuries on her body.
A foreign man aged in his twenties was also detained at the same location to assist in the investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
