GE15 was the lowest point in my political career - Wan Rosdy
He said the outcome was unexpected, as he believed he and his colleagues had done their best for the people.

SHAH ALAM - Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail has described Barisan Nasional’s (BN) loss of its majority in the 15th General Election (GE15) as the lowest point of his political career.
He said the outcome was unexpected, as he believed he and his colleagues had done their best for the people.
“The outcome in GE15 was beyond expectations. BN lost its majority.
“I believe my colleagues and I had done our best for the people, but perhaps due to misunderstandings and confusion, our performance was overshadowed by perceptions and sentiments. That was my lowest point,” he said.
He was speaking at the Sinar Harian Town Hall Rakyat (THR) programme at Dewan Jubli Perak Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah on Monday.
Reflecting on the challenges of politics, Wan Rosdy described it as both the art of the possible and the impossible, adding that developments could be unpredictable. He said the key was to manage challenges and move forward instead of dwelling on past setbacks.
“In politics, anything can happen. What matters is how you manage it. The rest is that we have to move on.
“We should not look back. We must move forward for the people,” he said.
He stressed that political leaders should focus on serving the public regardless of the challenges they face.
Wan Rosdy also said he respected the strengths of other political parties and believed voters would ultimately judge leaders on their performance and contributions.
“I have never belittled any political party. They have their own strengths and we have ours too.
“But our strength lies in the trust and responsibility given to us. When we are entrusted with that responsibility, we must work for the people.
“What matters is that the people can evaluate what we have done for them,” he said.
In GE15 in November 2022, BN suffered the worst electoral defeat in its history, winning only 30 of the 178 parliamentary seats it contested. This was 49 fewer than the 79 seats the coalition won in the 2018 election (GE14).
