‘Stop sending donations to my account’: Akmal Saleh
He said some people were still sending money to his account despite his earlier request for donations to stop.

SHAH ALAM - Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh has urged the public once again to stop sending donations to his personal bank account as he works to distribute the funds already received.
He said some people were still sending money to his account despite his earlier request for donations to stop.
“I am very grateful that, to this day, there are still kind-hearted people sending donations to my account, even though I had previously requested that no more money be transferred to it.
“I ask everyone to stop sending donations to my account.
“This will allow me to complete the distribution of all donations received to those in need,” he said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
Earlier, he had also appealed to the public to stop donating, saying he felt guilty over their generosity. He apologised for having to withdraw the bank account number he had shared in an earlier post.
Previously, media reports said Dr Muhamad Akmal had offered his Honda X-ADV motorcycle and tilapia fish farming business for bidding by supporters and friends to raise funds to cover RM300,000 in compensation and legal costs.
He reportedly said the decision to sell his assets was made after considering his financial situation, as his existing savings were insufficient to cover the amount.
He appreciated the public’s suggestion to set up a fund to help him raise the money but said he had decided to sell his own assets first.
He also expressed concern that some donations might be overlooked and left undistributed, leaving money in his account.
He said every cent donated was a trust placed in him and that he did not want to fail in fulfilling that responsibility.
“Thank you for all your trust, concern and generosity. May Allah reward you all abundantly for your kindness,” he said.
