MyCC investigates 510 companies over RM3b bid-rigging allegations
18 enterprises face proposed decision over alleged collusion in 30 tenders worth RM108.3 million for food supplies and cleaning services

SHAH ALAM – The Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) is investigating 510 companies suspected of involvement in bid-rigging cartels linked to tenders worth more than RM3 billion.
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the cases involved tenders in both the public and private sectors.
He said MyCC had issued a proposed decision against 18 enterprises on Oct 13, 2026, over their alleged involvement in bid-rigging.
The case involved alleged collusion among several enterprises in 30 tenders for food supplies to schools and public higher education institutions (IPTAs), as well as cleaning services.
The tenders were called by 12 public sector entities, comprising six ministries, three IPTAs, two state Islamic religious departments and one federal statutory body, with a total procurement value of RM108.3 million.
Armizan said evidence gathered by MyCC included the centralised preparation and coordination of tender documents, the exchange of information on proposed bid prices, and the sharing of financial and human resources among the enterprises involved.
He said this during the debate on the Supply Bill 2027 for his ministry in the Dewan Rakyat.
The enterprises have been given the opportunity to submit representations to MyCC before a final decision is made.
Armizan said MyCC would consider their representations alongside the evidence gathered during the investigation before issuing its final decision.
He added that MyCC had taken enforcement action against 58 companies in bid-rigging cases, including the latest case, with total penalties amounting to RM98.49 million, based on the figures for proposed and final decisions.
