Bersatu signs CSA with Madani Government to support 2027 Budget
Muhyiddin stressed that the agreement did not mean Bersatu had joined the government.

KUALA LUMPUR - Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) today signed a Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA) with the MADANI Government, committing to support the passage of the Supply Bill 2027 (Budget 2027).
The agreement was signed by Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, two of its vice-presidents, Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin and Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, and four other party MPs.
They were Datuk Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah (Langkawi), Datuk Ali Biju (Saratok), Mohd Nazri Abu Hassan (Merbok) and Datuk Azman Nasrudin (Padang Serai).
Also signing the agreement were Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman of MUDA and six independent MPs, namely Datuk Dr Zulkafperi Hanapi (Tanjung Karang), Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal (Bukit Gantang), Zahari Kechik (Jeli), Mohd Azizi Abu Naim (Gua Musang), Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar) and Datuk Dr Suhaili Abdul Rahman (Labuan).
The signing ceremony, held at Parliament House, was witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, and the Prime Minister's Senior Political Adviser Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, who represented the government.
Beyond the Budget 2027 vote, the CSA also provides for the participating MPs to support key government initiatives, including institutional reforms such as limiting the Prime Minister's tenure to a maximum of two terms and separating the roles of the Attorney-General and the Public Prosecutor.
Speaking to the media after the signing, Muhyiddin said the agreement followed a similar model of cooperation established during the administration of former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
"The sole objective is to foster greater national stability and to manage critical matters affecting the people, particularly the economy, the cost of living and other related issues.
"This agreement will help ensure stability, enabling the government to manage the country in a more orderly manner," he said.
However, Muhyiddin stressed that the agreement did not mean Bersatu had joined the government.
He said the party would remain in the opposition and continue to perform its role of providing checks and balances. - BERNAMA
